Add members and project access

Adding someone to a workspace and giving them access to a particular project are related but separate steps. Start by checking that you are in the correct workspace.

You need permission to manage members or project access. If an action is missing, ask a workspace administrator rather than using a more privileged person's account.

Add a workspace member on the web

  1. Open Members.
  2. Choose Add Member.
  3. Enter the person's profile details and phone number, including the country code.
  4. Complete the other required fields shown in the form. The current web member form includes an email field.
  5. Choose the Application Role when that field is available.
  6. Choose Add Member to create the member.

The phone number connects the person to their sign-in identity. A company email is not required for phone sign-in, but profile fields requested by the member form still need to be completed.

Tell the person which workspace they are joining and which phone number you used. Share Sign in to Bridge so they can open the workspace with their own account.

Add an existing workspace member to a project on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the project and its Project Details.
  2. Open Access.
  3. In Add member, use Search workspace members to find the person.
  4. Select the person and a project role.
  5. Choose Add member.

This searches existing workspace members. It is not a new-account form. Add the person to the workspace first if they are not available in the search results.

Project access changes need a connection so Bridge can retrieve the current access list and apply the assignment.

Choose access for the work

Give people the role that matches what they need to do. Viewing, editing, managing access, and deleting are different capabilities.

A project can also have organization-based access. The access view distinguishes direct project assignments from inherited organization access. Removing one direct assignment may not remove access supplied by another role or organization.

See Roles and permissions before changing an existing member's access.

Check the result

Ask the member to sign in with their own account, choose the workspace, and open the intended project. If something is missing, check the workspace, project assignment, role, and enabled features.
